Private Mentoring with John offers his "Conscious Choosing" clients an opportunity to experience their own magnificence (without arrogance or egoism), to see possibilities they may not have seen before, to feel passions they hadn't felt before, to eliminate things that don't "make their hearts sing" and engage their work more effectively and with more joy than ever before.

With decades of experience in hands-on management and corporate leadership, I have started and run several companies in a wide variety of disciplines - from investment firms to advertising agencies, real estate brokerages to specialty manufacturing, event production to publishing. Since the mid-1970s I have been a scholar of human potential, writing my first book- Setting Goals - in 1979. Now, nearly thirty years later, I offer my services as a private mentor to a limited number of clients. Clients I wish to work with in this highly-intimate way are people who are open to exploring their own consciousness; they might feel a restlessness - a need to stretch, find their purpose or become more aligned with their purpose (if they know what that is). They might be wanting to more fully embrace their calling and maximize their contribution. Working with people like this is exciting to me.

One of my skills is the ability to see possibilities where others often do not. This visionary capability makes me a good mentor for I can see potential in people where they may not see it in themselves. I have "walked in the moccasins" of business leaders for many years (see article from Executive Excellence magazine) so I have first-hand experience with the process of gaining clarity and taking stands for my values.

While my work now consists primarily of writing and speaking (see About John) about matters concerning human consciousness and work (or business), I allocate a percentage of my time for private mentoring. I select the people I would like to work with - people who have a commitment to making more conscious choices, who are willing to have their assumptions and present worldview challenged, and who wish to claim their full personal power and make the highest level of contribution.

If we choose to work together in this capacity, I promise you increased clarity about your work, your objectives and your heart's desire; guidance along your path of personal growth and development; mentoring and counseling for making wiser choices; and accountability for your promises to yourself. I am a tough ally in your desire to fulfill your destiny; a supportive companion as you negotiate the rapids of new thinking; a cheerleader in those times of inevitable difficulty; and a teammate in overcoming resistance and reaching your objectives. "You make me think" is a common phrase I hear from Conscious Choosing clients; an Australian customer told me that I "challenged his comfort zones." Another says, "He challenges me to stretch my thinking - to surpass my present expectations of myself."

PS: Here are some additional details about Conscious Choosing mentoring engagements:

1. The first session will involve determining what results you wish to receive from the engagement over the calendar quarter; the engagement begins as close to the first of each month as possible;

2. There may be reading I suggest or other programs I recommend along the way that would support your objectives;

3. If either of us needs to reschedule a session, we do so by consensus; you will be charged for a session if you cancel at the last minute or miss the appointment;

4. One hour mentoring sessions are actually only 50 minutes long, scheduled weekly - usually on the same day and time (which we work out together at the beginning of the engagement); sessions can be in-person (for corporate clients) or by phone (for most individual clients) or a combination;

5. My rate for Conscious Choosing mentoring sessions is entirely negotiable with each client; I have found that weekly sessions are best for maximizing value for most individual clients (my corporate rates have been higher), as is a minimum of 13 weeks; before offering negotiated engagements, my rate was $250 for a one hour session (50 mins) and $200 per session for a 13 week package (for a total contract of $2,600 for individuals); corporate rates were slightly higher; monthly payments were made in advance; but, now, all terms are negotiable; and

6. Once the business arrangements have been negotiated, checks should be made payable to New Business Communications and mailed to P.O. Box 472379, San Francisco, CA 94147-2379; I am a PayPal member and accept credit cards through the PayPal system.
